      A View of the Lovely Town of Bundi Surrounded by the Aravallis

      History And Location
      Bundi - the popular princely state of Rajasthan, is said to have derived its names from a former Meena king called Bunda Meena. Bundi was previously called “Bunda-Ka-Nal", Nal meaning “narrow ways”. The city lies near a narrow gorge, and is surrounded on three sides by hills of the Aravalli Range.

      The city of Bundi is located in Hadoti region of Rajasthan state in northwest India.
      How To Get There
      Bundi is a well connected by train, air and roads.
      • By Train - The nearest railway station is at Kota, which is 35 km away from Bundi and is well connected by bus and taxi. Kota is also connected by rail to other major cities of India.
      • By Air - The nearest airport to Bundi is the Sanganer Airport located at Jaipur, which is about 215 km from Bundi. You can reach Jaipur from Bundi by taxi. Jaipur airport is connected to major cities Mumbai and Delhi. Foreign travellers generally take connecting flights from Delhi or Mumbai.
      • By Road – Bundi is connected with Kota (35 km). Jaipur (215 km) and other cities through state owned transport services. Private luxury buses are also ply between major cities and Bundi.
      The Best Time To Visit
      Bundi has a dry and warm climate all through the year.
      • October to March is pleasant with mild winter and perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
      • June to September is nice with cooler climate and suitable for short trips.
      • April and May are dry and hot, it is best to avoid this time as it is not at all suitable for outdoor activities.
      Places To Visit
      The beautiful city of Bundi is in the lap of the Aravalli hills. It has beautiful tourist attractions which draws a number of tourists round the year.
      Taragarh Fort and Badal Mahal:
      The Taragarh Fort, or "Star Fort" is the most impressive of the city's structures. The fort is a popular tourist spot, offering a beautiful view of the city below. The Badal Mahal is located in the premises of the Taragarh Fort. This Mahal is remembered for the beautiful murals and paintings.
      Bhoraji-ka-Kund:
      This is one of the famous step wells, near Bundi. The meaning of Kund is tank and such water bodies were constructed in the olden days as a source of water for the drought hit areas of the city.
      Chatar Mahal:
      Among all the palaces around the Taragarh Fort, the Chatar Mahal is possibly the most beautiful. This Mahal signifies the proof of predominance of the Rajput rule.
      Garh Palace:
      The Garh Palace has a number of petite palaces built encircling the central majestic residence. Various rulers of the city built these small palaces.
      Moti Mahal:
      It is one of the royal apartments of the fort. It has gorgeous ceiling with intricate mirror work.

      Where To Stay
      Bundi is one of the most important tourist spots of Rajasthan. Hotel rooms are, therefore, booked during the peak seasons that from October to March.
      • The palaces and heritage hotels are the biggest attractions of the area, and therefore get booked first. If you are planning to stay in a heritage then you must book in advance.
      • If budget is a constraint, then you can easily stay in decent luxury or budget hotels, which are equally good. All hotels have basic modern amenities.
      You can book any of these hotels and experience royalty. Apart from heritage palace hotels there are also other budget hotels where you can enjoy your stay comfortably.
      Main Attraction – Desert Suffary
      • The best way to venture a desert safari is a ride on a camel back but if you are not comfortable with that then you can go for a jeep safari in the desert as well. But to get the real feel a camel ride is a must
      • Another amazing aspect of the desert safari is the sand dunes. The sights of sand dunes stretching for miles and their changing shapes under the influence of wind leave a mark on your memory forever.
      • To make the safari even more interesting you can book the royal desert safari camps where people can stay overnight and enjoy the beauty of the desert at night with good rajasthani food, music and dance.
